ResinForce® Polyurea Primer (RF-PLY95) is a high-performance, high solids, two-component polyurea hybrid primer designed for superior adhesion and versatility across various substrates. This primer serves as an ideal basecoat for numerous coating systems, ensuring robust performance in diverse environmental conditions.
Key Features:
- Exceptional Adhesion: Provides outstanding bond strength on a wide range of surfaces, including concrete, metal, and existing coatings.
- Versatile Application: Most effective when substrate temperatures range from 50°F to 86°F with a relative humidity less than 85%. This primer adapts well to both high and low temperature extremes.
- Efficient Curing: Recoat time 2 hours @ 73 degrees F. RF-PLY95 allows for flexibility in project scheduling and minimizes downtime.
- User-Friendly: Its 2:1 mix ratio by volume (100:63 by weight) and a working time of 10-20 minutes facilitate easy application and consistent results. Emits virtually no odors and can be applied indoors. For residential and commercial use.
Cure Time (70-85 degrees F):
- Recoat: 1-2 hours
- Foot Traffic: 16-24 Hours
- Light Traffic: 1-2 Days
- Full Cure: 5-7 Days
Technical Specifications:
- Coverage Rate: 150-200 sq. ft. per gallon at 8-12 mils thickness.
- Bond Strength: Exceeds 350+ psi (substrate failure) according to ASTM D4541, indicating superior adhesion.
- Hardness & Resistance: Achieves a Shore D hardness of 45-50 and shows excellent abrasive resistance.
Surface Preparation & Application:
- Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Concrete should be fully cured and mechanically prepped to achieve a CSP 2-3 profile. For existing coatings, sand thoroughly.
- Mixing: Thoroughly mix Part A and Part B before application. Combine in a clean container and stir well to ensure uniformity.
- Application: Apply with a flexible squeegee or lint-free roller. For edges and corners, use a brush or small roller. Avoid puddling and ensure subsequent coats are applied while the primer is still wet or tacky.
